"Al-andalus Coloreada" is my present project. There are few coloured pictures
still, but I pretend to upload much more and open new galleries, as soon as I paint them
There are so many
places to walk around!..........

(SOMETHING) ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I am asturian, from the North of Spain and since I first put my feet in
Andalucia, I promised I would come back...
I began in this little world of photography thanks to the summertime and the chances of life. It was 1988 and, even without too much knowledge, I was providing some graphic reports for the weekly journal "La hoja del Lunes"in Oviedo. Later, my first Course in Photography would help me to get closer to the knowledge, although learning was still far away. In this course, I experienced my first contact with the material for painting photographs. After that, everything was self-taught, with the help of proving, failing and feeling, as well as to few visual references that I found in those times. At present, I continue to experience and try to colour..."those short and brief moments that life bring to us"...
ABOUT THE TECHNIQUE........
I can say very little about the technique. It is simply based upon making a good black and white picture, selecting the photografhic paper to print it (I never use glossy paper), and then applying colour directly onto the printed photograph using water colours and the help of a small brush. And then the rest...patience, imagination, good music and lots of trials to gain a good movement of the brush on the picture, which is patiently waiting to be transformed by the colour...............
ABOUT THIS WEB

(SOMETHING) ABOUT al-ANDALUS COLOREADA
All the pictures from this exhibition have been taken in Andalucia, an autonomic community in the South of Spain.
All of them are originally black and white pictures, taken using 100 or 400 asa films.
The technique used is aforementioned "colouring pictures".
Their original size is 18 x 24 cm.
They have been prepared all the year along.
This exhibition is the continuation of my former exposition:
